Well Known Resident of Carmel Community
Mrs. Eva J. Hensel, wife of William A. Hensel, well known farmer living south of Carmel, died in the St. Vincent hospital at Indianapolis, early Friday morning, from the effects of an operation which she underwent Thursday. It is announced that the funeral will be held at the Pleasant Grove church at 1:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon with Rev. V. B. Hargett in charge of the services and the burial will take place in Noblesville. She was sixty-two years of age and the eldest of several children born to Frank and Sarah McShane who have been well known in the southwestern part of the county for fifty years or more. She was ill for five weeks and it was decided only a few days ago that an operation was necessary. She is survived by the husband and the following sisters and brother: Mrs. Alma Michener, of Union City, and Mrs. Nona Day and Mrs. John Eveleth of the southwestern part of the county, and James W. McShane of Bay City, Mich. The following step children also survive: George Hensel of New York; Seth Hensel of Dayton, Ohio, and Hiram Hensel and Mrs. Ruth Morris of Carmel. [2]
