Obituary
Meridith M. Fisher, 71, died Oct. 19, 1981, at a Waterville hospital following a long illness. She was born in St. Albans, May 30, 1910, the daughter of Charles E. and Ada Libby Mower. She was a life-long resident of St. Albans, attending Hartland Academy and graduating from Maine Central Institute in 1928. She was the wife of the late Elmer Fisher, who died in 1970. She was employed with H. D. Baxter Co. as a bookkeeper for 24 years. She was president of the Chatter Box Club since 1951, a member of St. Albans Christmas Club, St. Albans Helpful Workers, the St. Albans Union Church. She is survived by one sone, Allen of St. Alans [sic]; one daughter, Mary Anderson of St. Albans; one sister, Ruth M. Smith of Palmyra; two grandchildren, Craig and Michelle Fisher, and a niece, Marilyn McLeod of Bangor. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Albans Union Church, with the Rev. Leonard Whitman, pastor, and the Rev. Terry McKinley. Calling hours will be at the Donald H. Shorey Funeral Chapel, Hartland, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Those who wish may make donations in her memory to the Carpet Fund of the St. Albans Union Church. Interment will be in St. Albans village cemetery.Endnotes
