Bio Note
Thomas Mower was born at Lynn, 1 August 1684 and died, probably at Lynn, before 8 March 1731, when his widow was appointed administratrix of his estate (Essex County Probate, 18688). He married at Lynn, 13 November 1711, Mary Lewis. She was born at Lynn, 4 August 1681, daughter of Thomas and Mary (Breed) Lewis. Mary (Lewis) Mower married (2) 21 February 1730/31, Joseph Towne (as his 3rd wife). He had m. (1) at Topsfield, 9 Nov 1699, Margaret Case and (2) Abigail Curtis. Mary (Mower) Towne died, probably at Topsfield, 2 October 1739. She and Joseph Towne had 1 daughter, born at Topsfield; died young. Thomas Mower was a mariner in 1714. In 1727, he was licensed to keep an inn. There are many deeds involving his property in Boston, transacted between 1714 and 1727. He was only about 45 years of age when he died.Endnotes
