Obituary
Marshall C. Mower, who died Friday at his home in Morrisville after a brief illness from the effects of a shock, was born in Brookfield, Mass. 79 years ago and came to Vermont with his parents when a small boy. When a young man he went to Massachusetts to work and there married Miss Harriet Parker. She died in 1862 leaving one daughter, Mrs. E. B. Cobb, of Stowe. Mr. Mower enlisted in Company G, 53rd Mass Inf., in September, 1862, and served one year. He married in November, 1864, at Hubbardston, Mass., Miss Lois M. Pollard. Two years later they went to the Kenfield farm in Morristown and later bought the old homestead on West hill, after which Mr. Mower bought the Morristown corners store and for seven years ran the store and post-office at that place. He then returned to the farm and in 1892 moved to Morrisville. Mrs. Mower died seven years ago. The deceased is survived by four children. Mrs. E. B. Cobb, of Stowe, Misses Alice and Anna Mower, of Morrisville, and City Judge Edmond C. Mower, of Burlington; also by one brother, Emery C. Mower, of Burlington.Endnotes
