Death
Obituary of William “Bill” R. WindischWilliam “Bill” R. Windisch, 69, of Louisburg, KS, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2001, at Olathe Medical Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, at the First Baptists Church Louisburg, KS. Burial in the Louisburg Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Monday, January 29 at the Runyan Chapel, Louisburg, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to American Legion or Louisburg Senior Citizens.
Mr. Windish was born June 20, 1931 in Louisburg, the son of Clarence and Belle Windisch. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Sampson on January 28, 1956.
He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years, from there he went to work for his father at Windisch Refrigerator and Electric. Later, he purchased the business and was there until a fire destroyed the business in November, 1977. He then went to work for George R. Reunites Company and retired from there in June, 1996.
He was an active member of the Deer Trace Gold Club and American Legion Post 250. He spent many happy hours fishing, golfing, grandparenting, helping family and friends, and enjoying his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Belle Windisch, one sister, Mildred Windish, one brother, Henry Windisch, and his granddaughter, Caitlyn York.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Winch of the home; one son Larry Windisch and wife, Glenna, Louisburg, KS; two daughters, Janet York and husband, Jack, Louisburg, KS and Sandra Ohlmeier and husband, Jim, Paola, KS; eight grandchildren, Alicia Schroeder, Austin Ohlmeier, Krysta, Ashley, and Dylan York, and Janelle, Ryan and Jessica Windisch; one brother, Earl Windisch, Overland Park, KS; one sister, Marjorie Masterson, Scottsdale, AZ; and many other relatives and friends.
