Obituary of Charles Monroe Hale, Jr.

Charles M. Hale of 231 W. Dodson St., Americus, died Monday at Sumter Regional Hospital. He was 71.

Graveside services were planned at 3 p.m. today at Oak Grove Cemetery in Americus with the Rev. Jim Jensen officiating.

Mr. Hale was a native and lifelong resident of Americus. He was the son of the late Charles Monroe Hale and Laura Ansley Hale of Americus, who survives.

He was the retired city superintendent for the city of Americus, a position he held for many years. In more recent years, he was employed by Tribble and Richardson Engineering Co., in Macon. Mr. Hale was a member of First United Methodist Church in Americus.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Mrs. Abbie Dominick Hale of Americus; one daughter, Miss Charlene Hale of Tallahassee, Fla.; two sisters, Miss Laura May Hale of Americus and Mrs. Barbara Hale Kinnamon; one niece, Miss Ansley Kinnamon; and one nephew, Lee Kinnamon, all of East Point.

Memorials may be made to the Heart Fund.
Hancock Funeral Home in Americus was in charge of arrangements.
