Will

The will was read on February 16, 1617. James gave one-third of his estate to Phebe, one-third to his son Richard, and one-third to the church, the poor of East Smithfield, and some friends: a cordwainer, a blacksmith and a shoemaker.

Occupation

James was an apprentice in the Ironmongers Company. Ironmonger was like a blacksmith or iron worker. Today in London the word means a hardware store owner.

Burial

Burial location is unknown, there is a bio at Find a Grave memorial. In his will James chose his burial to be in the churchyard at St. Botolph's, near his children.
