Individual Details

Kuna Kuntje Enen Janssen

(November, 1833 - June 8, 1906)

Kuna was born in 1833, somewhere in Germany. In about 1860 she married Casjen Frerichs and in August 1883 they left Bremen, Germany for Baltimore, America with their 5 children ages 8 to 21. It appears the Frerichs family went directly to Iowa, Butler County near Parkersburg. Their first record after arrival is probably the 1885 Iowa census -not yet found in Butler townships searched, and the 1890 census was destroyed in a fire so not too many records for Casjen and Kuna. They probably lived in one area, near Parkersburg and both are buried in the Parkersburg Oak Hill Cemetery.
