JOHN SMITH, son of William, came with his parents in 1822 to what was then Appling Co. but which in 1825 became Ware County. His home-place was on a lot of land, 391, 7th District, of present Clinch Co.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith were members of Union Primitive Baptist Church. He was received and baptized July 12, 1851, as was his wife. Records of the church show he was excluded Oct. 11, 1856. His wife died a member.
