CORNELIUS - O. V. Freeman, 83, Cornelius, died July 12, 2002, at his home.
Interment will be private.
Mr. Freeman was born Dec. 5, 1918, in New Rockford, N.D., a son of Walter David and Ella May Lamphier Freeman.
On June 30, 1940, he married Lena R. Spurgeon in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. They lived in Montana, Colfax, Wash., and Bonners Ferry before moving to Rose Loadge in 1952. They moved to Washington County in 1969.
They observed their 62nd wedding anniversary last month.
Mr. Freeman retired from Washington County as a heavy equipment operator.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Lena Freeman; a son, R. V. Freeman; a daughter, Nila Barjheron; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Quint and Brenda Barjheron, Grant Memmott, Lori Phibbs, Linda Cameron, Leigh Freeman, Melissa and Darin Porter, Lance and MacKenzie Freeman, and Loren V. Freeman; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Burton, Harold, Dave and Glen.
Fuiten, Rose and Hoyt Funeral Home of Forest Grove is in charge of arrangements."
