The Independent Record. Funeral Notice. 20 October 1959, Helena, Montana. "'Freeman, Mrs. Ella May, aged 70 years, of Austin, Mont. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Oct. 22, at 2 p.m., at the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Bozeman, with Mr. Charles Church officiating. Interment is the Sunset Hills cemetery in Bozeman."
Newspaper obituary. October 1959. "Ella May Freeman Of Austin, Dies Monday Afternoon. Ella May Freeman, 70, of Austin, widow of Walter David Freeman of Kalispell, died Monday afternoon at a Helena hospital after an extended illness. Mrs. Freeman was born July 28, 1889 in Moorhead, Minn. She attended schools in Lemmon, S.D. In 1915 she was married in Fargo, N.D., to Mr. Freeman. He died in 1937 in Kalispell. Mrs. Freeman, a resident of Montana since 1929, first settled in the Fairview and Sidney area. She moved to Bozeman in 1950, residing there for several years before moving to Austin to make her home with a son, Burton W. Freeman. Surviving besides her son, who is employed by the Northern Pacific Railway at Austin, are other sons, Orvie, David W., and Glenn E., all of Rose Lodge, Ore., and Harold C. of Anacortes, Wash.; three brothers in Fargo, N.D., another brother in Lamphier, N.D.; three sisters in Fargo, N.D., and 11 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2p.m., Thursday in Bozeman at the Reorganized Church of Jesus Chirst of Latter Day Saints, with Charles C. Church officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Bozeman. The body will lie in state at the Hagler Chapel until Thursday morning when it will be forwarded to Bozeman."

In 1915 she was married to Walter David Freeman, who preceded her in death in 1937. In 1950 she moved to Bozeman, Montana, where she made her home with her son, Burton. For the past three years they had resided in Austin, Montana. She had been a member of the Reorganized Church since July 12, 1903. Surviving are five sons: Burton, Orvie, David W. and Glenn E., all of Rose Lodge, Oregon, and Harold C. of Anacortes, Washington; four brothers; three sisters; and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Reorganized Church, Priest David W. Martin officiating. Burial was in Sunset Hills Cemetery."
