CORNELIUS - Lena R. Freeman, 85, died Nov. 17, 2007, at her home.
No services will be held in Oregon as she will rest with her husband in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.
Mrs. Freeman was born Feb. 25, 1922, on the family farm in Colfax, Wash., a daughter of William and Lucretia Spurgeon. While young, she moved with her family to Pumpkin Ridge in Washington County, where her father was a tenant farmer.
In her early teens, the family moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho, where she married O.V. Freeman on June 30, 1940.
They moved back to Oregon in 1947 and lived in Rose Lodge so her husband could work in the logging industry. In 1961 they moved to Hillsboro. After her husband's death, she continued to live in her home in Cornelius.
Mrs. Freeman was a homemaker and mother. She also worked outside the home at Halls Seafood Market in Otis, for 14 years; and at Tektronix and Tuality Hospital.
Her interests included gardening, canning, sewing and weekly dances at Pumpkin Ridge with her husband, as well as family activities with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, O.V., in 2002.
Survivors include her daughter, Nila Barjheron; her son Robert Freeman; sisters, Edith Spurgeon and Glenna Freeman; and eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
