(Ref: Obituary probably appeared in THE GRAHAM COUNTY GUARDIAN, Safford, Graham County, Arizona, after Feb. 1, 1959, reads as follows:
"Funeral services for Mrs. James N. Davis were held Wednesday, February 4, at 1:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church. The Rev. Mr. Thomas E. Jacobson of Phoenix, formerly Safford, officiated. A quartet composed of Judy and Janet Thompson, Marjorie and Caroline Jacobson began the service by singing "Only a Touch of Thy Hand". Mrs. Edna P. Monk accompanied them on the organ. Mr. Jacobson then read from the scripture, including the Twenty-third Psalm, followed by a prayer.
The quartet again sang "Beyond the Sunset". Mr. Jacobson gave a brief resume of Mrs. Davis' life, then offered words of consolation to family and friends. Concluding services were in the Safford Cemetery. Pallbearers were Albert Spalding, Ralph Ormsby, Dewain Nuttall, Walter Rogge, Ed Schleuning, and George Jacobson.
Arrangements were under the direction of William H. and Virginia Caldwell of the Caldwell Funeral Home in Safford.
Xenia Odessa Davis was born September 30, 1894 in Webster City, Iowa. She spent her early years in Webster City. On July 26, 1916 she married James N. Davis. She and her husband had lived in Safford the past eleven years. She passed away in a Phoenix hospital February 1, after an illness of two months. She is survived by her husband James N., Safford, three sons, James Rue Davis, Gene Wessel Davis, both living in Iowa, and Daryl Arlen Davis of Chambers, Arizona; one sister, Mrs. Leola Anderson, Mason City, Iowa; and 6 grandchildren.
