Here is some highlights of Philip written by Ruth: "Benjamin F. Coleman was the original owner of the farm on which the author grew up. This farm was on the southern town line of Clayton Township , Crawford County, Wisconsin about 2 and one half miles east of Bell Center and about one mile west of present day highway 61. This is a very hilly region in Southwestern Wisconsin. This farm originally contained all of the Southwest quarter of Section 31 Township 10 North Range three west and contained one hundred and fifty two and thirty three hundredths of an acre. The patent for this land was signed by President James Buchanan, F.J.Albright Secretary, June 1, 1858.
