Bert Edwin ALSHOUSE

Family moved to Dixon, Lee County, Illinois two years before his death. He was planning to enter his 2nd year of high school. On Easter Sunday of 1927 he united with Dixon Christian Church. The funeral was held in family home at 409 College Avenue and then at Walnut, Bureau County, Illinois Christian Church. From his obituary, "During his residence in Dixon, Bert had endeared himself to his many friends and neighbors, and will be missed by his classmates and teacher, with whom he was a general favorite. He was a quiet, kind hearted boy, always content of home where he was a source of great comfort to his parents, to whom he was at all times very obedient."
