Thomas "Tom" RYAN
(16 Feb 1881 - 14 Dec 1961)
This informaton is unproven - He'd been a boy soldier in the (4th Royal Irish Regiment) Dragoon Guards joining at the age of 14 in about 1889. He was discharged by purchase - he had to pay to leave. On the18th Aug 1894, he joined the Royal Dublin Fusiliers at Clonmel and fought in The Second Boer War (1899–1902). In 1911 he was still in the RDF. His Regimental Number was 5179.
