Roderick EVANS of Coedygof
(Abt 1737 - 12 Aug 1809)
The information about Roderick Evans of Coedygof has come from various sources. Much of it from the Llanddewi pareish church records. Another interesting source is The History & Families of Jackson County, Ohio
by The Ohio Genealogical Society, Jackson County, Ohio. The book has Roderick married twice, first to Deborah and then to Margaret. There is no way of telling which of the children were born to which mother. It is only a best guess.
When Roderick made his will, which was proved in 1809, he had seven grandsons, all named Roderick - five of them were Evans and two were Jones. The farms were as follows: Evans at Llanio isaf, Dolement (Doldrement, Lampeter?), Pencoeduon, Llanddewi Brefi village and Abercoed. Jones at The Lion and Penlan. Each grandson got one ewe and one lamb.
