NOTE:
Abraham Moor served an apprenticeship during boyhood. He learned the trade of woodworking, at which he worked until he " reached his majority".
He was 25 when he married Susanna Hopkins, who was 17. They lived at a farm on Snow's Neck in Duck Creek Hundred. It was about two miles from Smyrna.
They then moved to the "Chiffen Farm", owned probably by Susanna's father, Robert Hopkins, in 1815.
The third farm was at Little Creek. Susanna's father had died, and the Little Creek Farm (also owned by her father, and inherited from Susanna and Nancy's grandfather, Henry Killen), needed to be managed.
He cultivated more than 500 acres of land. Nineteen of these acres were devoted to peach culture. 1000 acres marsh land (now near present day Bombay Hook. When Susanna died in 1819, about 19 months later, he married her sister, Nancy Hopkins Ennis ( a widow of Levin T. Ennis ).
He was an "old-line Whig and later with the Republican Party.
Abraham and Nancy had lived in the house on the "Upper Farm", which was the old home. The old home had a yard sloping down to the creek. There were boxwood bushes and an old- fashioned garden with flowers and herbs. A burying ground enclosed by a stone wall was on the property.
