Supreme Judicial Court (Essex County); Probate Place: Essex, Massachusetts, Probate Records, Ambler, S-Amory, C, 1828-1991, case number 31284, Simeon Ames yeoman of Andover.Solomon Holt was executor of the estate. The personal estate was valued at $234.50. The real property was valued at $1215.00 including a 50-acre home farm, a small wood lot, and one undivided half of a pew at the West Parish meeting house.
In his will dated 10 November 1842, Simeon Ames left one dollar to each of his grandchildren the children of his son Simeon deceased: Mehitable Ames, Moses Bailey Ames, Gayton Osgood Ames, Mary Poor Ames, and Benjamin Ames. Daughter Hannah Ames received $100. The entire remainder of the estate was left to wife Sarah Ames to have and to hold to her, her heirs, and assigns forever. Deacon Solomon Holt was named executor.
