David Chadwick did not leave a will and his estate entered probate 7 February 1780 with David Chadwick of Rindge, New Hampshire as administrator with Moody Bridges and John Fowler providing surety for the bond. Real estate was valued at £3070 including dwelling house and barn on 3 ½ acres, shoemaker shop, and three other parcels totaling 29 acres. On 3 November 1788, Moses Chadwick blacksmith of Boxford sold his one-fifth interest in the house, barn, and shoemaker shop to Samuel Barker, Jr. for payment of £25. On 20 December 1781, David Chadwick withhis wife Hannah, Joshua Chadwick with his wife Mary, and Sarah Spafford wife of Phineas, in consideration of £91.10, conveyed to Asa Barker four-fifths of a tract of land in Andover.
