On 5 September 1832, Joshua Chadwick aged 77 years and resident of Rindge applied for a pension based on his service in the Revolution. He first enlisted on the last of November 1775 for a term of three months in the company of Capt. Jonathan Foster of Boxford, Massachusetts. He served at Roxbury and Jamaica Plain. He next volunteered about the first of June 1776 in the company of Capt. Samuel Johnson of Massachusetts militia, Col. Wigglesworth’s regiment, Troops marched to Charlestown No. 4 in New Hampshire and served most of their time there with discharge in December 1776. He was born in Andover, he supposed in the year 1755, but had no record of his birth. He was living at Andover when he entered the service and lived in Rindge since the war. Joshua was admitted to the pension rolls receiving payment of $30 per annum. On 9 March 1843, Mary Chadwick aged 82 years and resident of Rindge provided a statement related to her application for the widow’s pension. A supporting statement was provided by Mary’s brother Joseph Cormbie aged 77 years of Rindge. Son James C. Chadwick aged 50 years of Rindge provided a statement noting he had three older siblings who were Susan, Isaac, and Rebecca.11 U. S. On 1 July 1824, Joshua Chadwick of Rindge mortgaged his 80-acre property in Rindge to John Barker of Andover for $642. On 5 March 1830, Joshua Chadwick quitclaimed his interest in this property to John Barker for $878.1Cheshire deeds – 95:542, 112:49 – that is all the deeds
