( - 1866)
William and Charlotte owned and operated an inn in Königsberg, in the region of Neumark, province of Brandenburg, in northeastern Germany, renting out rooms and serving meals and liquor. In the 19th century, Brandenburg was a Lutheran and mostly German-speaking province. After World War II, the part of Brandenburg east of the Oder River was incorporated into Poland. Königsberg is now Chojna, Poland. The greater part of Brandenburg still remains German and is one of the states within the current Federal Republic of Germany.
