Notes
Death
A 1971 Lewistown News-Argus article about the 1901 construction of the Lindsey home states: "Obtaining sand for the mortar led to a tragedy during construction. The Lindseys' small son, S. Rial Lindsey, and a playmate went along with the men on the sand-hauling trip. The boys stayed behind at the sand pit to play and were accidentally buried in the sand. The other boy managed to get out and ran to the nearby Sweeney home for help. Mrs. Sweeney worked frantically to dig out the small Lindsey boy, but it was too late. His grave, along with that of a brother, is located across a field from the stone house. A large granite tombstone marks the spot."Endnotes
