Marriage license indicated he was a traveler of Toronto.
The 1905 Toronto Directory did not record Jonathan. In 1906 he was recorded as J. Edgar Flatt, a traveler living at 17 Oak St. In 1907 he was a clerk with the T. Eaton Co. living at 14 Oxford Ave. In 1909 he had been promoted to assistant manager and was living at 11 Otter Ave. In 1910, he was recorded as Jonathan E. and was back at 17 Oak St.
The 1911 Census, Toronto East, recorded Jonathan, 40, born 1871, English, Assistant Manager, and Lillian, 36, Scotch, both Methodist and living at 17 Oak St.
The 1911 to 1916 Toronto Directories recorded Jonathan at the same address (17 Oak St.). In 1917 he moved to 36 Riverdale Avenue. In 1918 he was promoted to assistant buyer and was at 35 Riverside Avenue. In 1920 he was promoted to buyer and lived at the same address until 1923. In 1924 his name was not recorded. In 1925 he was a manufacturer's agent living at 48 Chesterhill Rd.
Jonathan was the informant of his father's death in 1931 and lived at 48 Chesterhill Road, Newmarket.
