In the 1871 he is living with his family in Mono Township, Dufferin/Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada.
He homesteaded a farm three miles north of Sheldon, Ransom County, North Dakota in 1882. Highway 46 separates the farm from Cass County, North Dakota.
In the 1900, 1910, 1920, and 1930 census reports, he and his family are living in Sheldon, Ransom County, North Dakota as farmers. One census records indicates he emigrated to USA in 1878.
