Jonathan Flatt

It is not clear, through records discovered through 2020, the relationship Jonathan had with James Flatt (1781). Jonathan is listed in The Norfolk Record Office as being a son of Mary Ann Flatt. Father not listed. In the 1841 Census Jonathan is listed in the family with James, Judith, and Josiah Flatt. In Jonathan's marriage record also with The Norfolk Record Office he indicates his father is James. It is this writer's opinion he is either the grandson or nephew of James and that he was raised by James. It is clear that James and Judah Flatt had a daughter Mary Ann born in 1804 but it is unclear what become of her as she cannot be found in the 1841 England census.
In the 1871 Canada Census he is living with his wife and eleven children in Mono Township, Dufferin/Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada. The census has his age 46, born in England, and a farmer.

Baptism
The Norfolk Recording Office has a baptism for Jonathan, illegitimate son of Mary Ann Flatt of Kenninghall on 29 June 1824. From FreeReg U.K. Parish Register Information, Baptismal File Number 8630 has a Jonathan Flatt being baptized 29 June 1825, Kenninghall, Norfolk, Canada. Note one year difference. There is no baptismal record within The Norfolk Record Office showing a Jonathan to James and Judith.
