Claflin (Jake) Torpey, 66, of 150 Holly Lane, Plymouth, Mnn., and a former Hudson resident, died Saturday night, April 17.
Memorial services, Saturday, April 24, at David Lee Funeral home, Wayzata, Minn., with private interment in the family lot in Willow River cemetery in Hudson.
Claflin Torpey, the son of Frank A. and Maude (Thompson) Torpey, was born in Hudson July 9, 1915 and attended grade school here. In 1929 the family moved to St. Paul, where he was graduated from Humboldt High School.
He was married in 1948 to Mary Louise Bianchi and for many years was a pilot for Northwest Airlines until his retirement.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Barbara and Jane (Mrs. James Tuma); a son, Scott; and two sisters, Grace (Mrs. A. O. Staberg) and Ruth (Mrs. W. R. Lofgren), both of St. Paul.
