Leonard Riedel

Leonard G. Riedel, 71, suffered a fatal heartattack about 7 a.m. Tueday in his auto while returning to his home after fishing. Riedel, driving south on Trout Brook Road, suffered the attack near the first bridge and his car veered into the Wilow river to about a three foot depth.
Riedel, who lived on Trout Brook road, was in the habit of going fishing early every morning before breakfast.
Leonard G. Riedel was born in Stillwater, June 4, 1909, the son of Edward and Mary Lieder Riedel. He lived his entire life in Hudson and attended school here.
On October 3, 1936, he was married to Lydia Doege in Waukesha.
For 25 years he was employed by the Omaha Railroad car shops in North Hudson as a sheet metal worker. He retired in 1969.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran church of Hudson, Trout Unlimited and Union No. 76 of Sheet Metal Workers.
Surviving are his wife, Lydia, his son, Gary of 917 Kinnickinnic st., Hudson; two brothers, Roland of St. Paul and Arthur of Sacramento; a sister, Mrs. Thomas (Helen) Bolton of Medford, Oregon and one grandchild.
Services, July 11, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Interment in Willow River Cemetery.
