Anders Lindstrom Succumbs
Anders Petter Lindstron was born in Gammalsby, Oland, Sweden, on the twenty-third of October, 1851. He was confirmed in the Grasgord Lutheran church in 1866. Mr. Lindstron’s father and older brothers were seamen but his mother succeeded in persuading her youngest son to give up his natural inclinations and he therefore served an apprenticeship was a tailor and worked at that trade during his residence in Sweden.
In May, 1871, Mr. Lindstrom came to America and settled in Lansing, Iowa. On June 4th, 1878, Mr. Lindstrom was married to Hedwig Peterson in LaCrosse, Wis., and with the exception of two years residence in Minneapolis the family resided at LaCrosse until coming to Hudson fifteen years ago. It was on a farm near LaCrosse where Mr. Lindstron spent the most fruitful years of his life and by industry and hard labor succeded in transforming the forest and brush into a productive farm.
As a citizen and church man Mr. Lindstrom was true to the highest ideals and won the respect and esteem of his neighbors and friends. His sincerety and humbleness were prominent characteristics of his personality. His strength was in the Lord and he could therefore face his departure with a cheerful hope.
Mr. Lindstrom passed way on Sunday, Nov. 9, 1930, and leave to mourn the memory of a devoted husband and father, his wife, Mrs. Hedwig Lindstrom and five sons: Fred of Blair, Wis., George of Minneapolis, Albert of Chicago, Clarence of Scandia, Minn., and Arthur of Hudson and three daughters, Mrs. Minnie Mollendahl of LaCrosse, Mrs. Robert Lindstrom of Hudson and Amanda at home.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at Zion Lutheran church where Mr. Lindstrom had been a faithful member and officer.
