Eldon Hughes died Monday, March 28, at the John Germain home, R2, New Richmond, where he had made his home the past eight years.
A carpenter during most of his active life, Hughes had previously made his home in Chicago, St. Paul, Hudson and Roberts.
A son of James and Caroline Partch Hughes, he was born in Waterford, Minnesota, January 23, 1877.
He was married July 14, 1904 to Mrs. Iva Grover, who preceded him in death some years ago.
Surviving him are three brothers, Miles and Walter of St. Paul and Almon of Roberts.
Funeral services for Mr. Hughes were held Wednesday afternoon, March 30, in the Beebe Chapel at New Richmond. Rev. Alfred L. Allard of the Roberts Congregational church officiated. Mrs. Harold Lundell was organist. Interment was in Oakland cemetery, St. Paul.
Six nephews served as casketbearers: Oliver Hughes of White Bear Lake, Minn.; Irving Hughes of Rver Falls; Wendell Hughes of Roberts; Wayne Straub and Vern Germain of New Richmond and Frank Germain of St. Paul.
