Mrs. Robert Friend
The Angel of Death has taken from our midst one of our most highly respected and esteemed members, in the person of Mrs. Robert Friend.
Her death was a shock to her many friends as well as to her bereaved family. Although she had been in failing health for the past two years nothing serious was anticipated.
Hoping to be restored to health she underwent a severe operation which proved unsuccessful. She bore all with heroic patience and Christian resignation and having received the last Sacrament she passed away on Sunday morning, Nov. 24, most peacefully.
The deceased was born in Germany, Jan. 23, 1873 and when, only five years of age, emigrated with her parents and settled in St. Paul, Minn., where she became the wife of Robert Friend. Since then she has lived in Hudson and here she left a host of friends.
The funeral services took place on Tuesday, Nov. 26 in St. Patrick's church and were conducted by Rt. Rev. Mgs. Barney. Interment was made in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband and two children, Robert and Frances, who have lost in her a loving and devoted wife and mother. Her aged parents and two brothers and four sisters also mourn her loss.
