Anna Cajsa Andersdotter

(4 Sep 1826 - 7 Feb 1915)

Terrible and awe inspiring" is the way the North Branch Review of June 8th, 1906 described the tornado that struck between 5 and 6 o'clock on Wednesday, June 6th killing two people and damaging farms and homes. It seemed to start at Wyoming and go in a northerly direction. At Stacy houses, barns, outhouses and trees were leveled to the ground. “The same cloud struck near Fish Lake, doing considerable damage” with several narrow escapes from death. Heavy rains immediately following the tornado eliminated danger of fire. After the rain the sun shone bright and clear. Belle told that her grandmother, Anna Hawkinson, 80 years old at the time, was found unhurt under timbers in the rubble of their home after the storm passed.
Sometime after this event Anna went to Fargo where her only daughter, Anna Olesen, and family lived. She is found with them in the 1910 census. We know she returned to the Fish Lake area where she died in 1915 at the home of her son, Charles.

North Branch Review, 11Feb1915.
