overseas August 16th; mustered out June 23, 1919, at Mitchel Field.
In 1985 Lucille Hawkinson wrote, "I don't know too much about Fred except he
was Carl's cousin. He was really a wonderful guy and I loved Evelyn, his wife.
She died from cancer."

Fred Hawkinson, son of P.M. Hawkinson, got his foot caught in a threshing
separator a few days ago. No bones were broken although his foot was badly
crushed.
Fred Hawkinson was the son of Peter M. Hawkinson, and a cousin to Gilbert,
Belle and Carl, who kept in touch with him after he moved to the Seattle area
in about 1928 or 1929. Before moving to Washington he farmed just south of
Harris for a number of years. In Washington they lived near Lake Union until
Evelyn passed away from cancer, then he moved to an apartment about five miles
from downtown. When Belle would visit Gilbert and Sylvia, they would always go
to Seattle to see Fred, and the Carl Hawkinson's always visited them too.
In 1927 he was living in Minneapolis and employed as a millwright for Mpls
Steel & Machine Company. His wife, Evelyn, was employed as a waitress at the
Minneapolis Athletic Club.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hawkinson attended the funeral services for Mrs. Alice
Carlson at Isanti Friday afternoon.
