Dec 19, 1744 from James Thomas and Benjamin Thomas of CC, planters, to James Gow of CC, cordwainer, for 5600 lbs tobacco, and for divers other good causes, all their right to a parcel of land called Godfreys Chase, lying in CC on the east side of Potomack River, bounded by a tract of land called Tower Hill. Signed - James (I his mark) Thomas, Benjamin Thomas. Wit - Robert Yates, Geo: Dent. Sarah, the wife of James Thomas, released her dower.
