Dec 19, 1744 from James Thomas and Benjamin Thomas of CC, planters, to James Gow of CC, cordwainer, for 5600 lbs tobacco, and for divers other good causes, all their right to a parcel of land called Godfreys Chase, lying in CC on the east side of Potomack River, bounded by a tract of land called Tower Hill. Signed - James (I his mark) Thomas, Benjamin Thomas. Wit - Robert Yates, Geo: Dent. Sarah, the wife of James Thomas, released her dower.

I, Benjamin Thomas of Prince William County, Virginia, for divers good causes, appoint my friend, Randolph Brandt of CC, my true and lawful atty, to enter into all that remaining tract of land in CC in William & Mary Parish, called Saint Georges, and for me, to convey my right and title of the remaining tract of land called Saint Georges, left to me by my father's will, to James Maddox. Signed Nov 16, 1776 - Benja Thomas. Wit - Thomas Smoot Yst, John Anderson. Proved by both witnesses before Geo Dent and J Hawkins. Recorded Jun 2, 1777.
