1702 - James Tant, son of John, received "Dry Docking" as a gift from his father at the time of his marriage ???? to Mary Tattershall. He later married Mary Heard. James Tant had a daughter, Ann Tant.

On 5 October 1741 William Williams and Anne, his wife, heir at law of James TANT, deceased, and John REEDER, son of Benjamin REEDER, deceased (said Anne WILLIAMS being heir to James TANT, late of St Mary's County, deceased, brother-in-law to Laurence TOTERSHALL deceased), sold to Francis WARE of Portobacco a tract called Totershall's Gift lying on the north side of Potomack River.
