Williamson 1699/1705. Eleanor Williamson was the dau. of Samuel Williamson and

g. James Briscoe, b. 1726 and d. 1792. He married Elizabeth Sothoron, dau. of
Richard Sothoron and Elizabeth Letchworth 1765/1767.
5. Susanna Briscoe, b. 1678/1687 and d. after 1740. She married Matthew Compton bef
1702. He was the son of John Compton and Mary Clarke (more later) and was b. 1671 in
Charles Co. and died there in 9/1747. Their children:
a. Matthew Compton, b. 1709 in Charles Co. and died 3/14/1770 in St. Mary's Co.
He married Rachel Howard (dau. of William Stevens Howard and his first wife, Elizabeth)

6. Judith Briscoe, b. bef 1693 and d. 1738 in Charles Co. She married first
bef. 1708 Charles Ashcom (son of Charles Ashcom and Martha Earle). Their children:
a. Elizabeth Ashcomb who is said to have married bef 1723 William Shelley.
b. Martha Ashcom, living in 1725.
c. Susanna "Ann" Ashcom, who married bef 1744 John Reeder (son of Benjamin
Reeder and Elizabeth Attaway). She died 1780 in St. Mary's Co.
d. Samuel Ashcom who died bef 12/17/1754 in St. Mary's Co. He married Sarah
Cartwright, dau. of John Cartwright and Margaret Burroughs. After his death, Sarah
married Abraham Neferson (Nevison) in 1754.
Judith then married Thomas Brooke, Jr. in 1727. He was the son of Thomas Brooke and
Lucy Smith. They had one child--Thomas Brooke, b. 1734 in Charles Co. and d. 1789 in
Washington Co., MD. After Judith's death, Thomas Brooke married Sarah Mason.
7. James Briscoe, b. 1693 and d. by 9/19/1750 in Frederick Co., MD. He married Ann
Sothoron, dau. of John Sothoron and Mary Johnson bef 1730. Their children:
a. James Sothoron Briscoe, who died 1774 in St. Mary's Co. He married Mary

b. John Briscoe, b. 1741 St. Mary's Co. and died here 5/29/1822. He married
about 1772 Mary Jane Ellen Llewellen (dau. of John Llewellen and Elizabeth Jordan and

married first bef. 1710 John Davis, Jr. (son of John Davis and Mary ___). John Davis
died 1717 in St. Mary's Co. Their children:

10. Elizabeth Briscoe, b. bef 1699 and d. after 1740.
Col. Philip Briscoe lived first in St. Mary's Co. but moved to Charles Co. by 1696. He
is said to be the son of Dr. John Briscoe and Elizabeth DuBois but there is disagreement
on that.
