FROM PRINCE GEORGE'S LAND RECORDS 1743-1746Page 335. Lease, recorded at the request of George Hardy.
Jun 15, 1745 from Sam Hyde of London in Great Britain, to George Hardy Sr of PG, planter, for 3 £ sterling, and for the rents and covenants below, the lease of a tract of land in PG, being part of a tract of land called his Lordships Kindness, bounded by a tenement laid out for sd George Hardy, containing about 150 acres. This lease is for the natural life of George Hardy, son of George Hardy Sr by Elizabeth, his wife, and for the natural life of Solomon Hardy, son of William Hardy decd by Ann, his wife, and for the natural life of Vilender Hardy, daughter of William Hardy Jr by Elizabeth, his wife, paying to sd Hyde each year, the rent of I£ 10 shillings sterling and 2 capons at the feast of the Nativity of our Blessed Lord and Savior, within 10 miles of sd land where the sd Hyde or his assigns shall direct, and 6 £ sterling for every letting of the premises without licence from Hyde. Hardy, within 10 years, will plant an orchard with 300 apple trees. If the rent is 30 days late, or if any waste be committed, then this lease ceases and Hyde may repossess the premises. This Wm was married to Elizabeth Lanham. He died bef this lease, so bef. 27 Jun 1753 and his wife had died aft. 5 Oct 1761

At the Request of George Hardy the following Lease was Recorded July 13th Anno Domini 1753This Indenture made the Twenty Seventy day of June One Thousand Seven hundred & fifty Three Between Benedict Calvert of the City of Annapolis in ye Province of Maryland Esqr of ye one part & George Hardy of Prince Geroge's County in ye Province aforesaid Planter of ye other part Witnesseth that ye said Benedict Calvert Esqr For & in Consideration of ye Sum of Five Shillings Sterling in hand paid or Secured to be paid by ye said George Hardy before ye Ensealing and delivery of these presents as also for & in Consideration of ye Rents Covenants hereafter in these presents mentioned on ye part & behalf of ye said George Hardy his Executors Administrator & Assigns to be paid done & free form'd Hath Demised Granted Sett & to farm Lett & by these Presents doth Demise Grant Set & to Farm Lett unto the said George Hardy all that Tract or parcel of Land lying & being in Prince Georges County aforesaid being part of a Tract of Land Called his Lordships Kindness Beginning at a Bounded Hickory standing on the North Side of ye Road that leads to Broad Creek being ye beginning

Jun 13, 1764 from Charles Willet of CC, to George Hardey (Hardy) Jr & Henry Hardey (Gardey) Jr of Prince George's County, for 60 £ and for other valuable considerations, all that part or parcel of a tract of land called Century, lying in CC near Mamunzink, bounded by the Camp Branch near the line of Friendship, containing and laid out for about 53 acres. George Hardy served as a Justice in Prince George's County. George Hardy wrote his will on 5/ 13/1772 and it was probated in Prince George's County on 7/25/1772 (Will 38:744). He named hi s wife and living children in his will. His inventory was valued at £807.14.07, and his broth ers were named as his next of kin.
