Death

Mrs. Sara Edwards Specht, 97, of Frederick, died on Thursday, August 2, at her residence. She was the wife of the late L. Rayhue Specht, who died in October of 1969. Born on July 26, 1910, in Dickerson, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Leta Furr McKimmy. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Doubs, where she was a former council member. She was also a member of the Jug Bridge Homemakers Club. She is survived by, brother-in-law, Elliott Soule and wife Bernice, of Frederick; niece and nephews, Carol M. Heffner and husband Richard, William H. McKimmy, all of Yellow Springs, and Gary Lee Specht, of Frederick; great nephews, Todd Heffner and fiancŽe Larissa Femiano and Ryan Heffner; and friend, Lindsay Berbisk. She will also be remembered by her care giver, Jennifer Logsdon. Mrs. Specht was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise M. Shipley and Betty M. Soule, and three brothers, Frank F., William M. and Richard B. McKimmy. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m.and from 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, August 5 at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 6, from the funeral home. The Rev. Marina Flores, pastor of St. Marks Lutheran Church, Doubs, will officiate. Interment: Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 5132 Doubs Rd., Adamstown, MD 21710-8919.
