Death
Sidney Everett Furr, 72, of Rockville died 2 p.m., Wednesday at his residence. Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard, Rockville with friend of Sid’s Pastor Fred Becknell officiating. Burial will follow services in Beacon Hill Cemetery, south of Rockville. ROCKVILLE- Sidney Everett Furr, 72, of Rockville died 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at his residence. He was a lifelong mechanic and was the owner of Sid's Auto Repair, Sid Furr's Standard Truck Plaza and Sid's Sunoco Service Station all in Rockville. He was born July 10, 1936 in Hillsboro, Indiana to the late Everett Furr and Helen M. Abernathy Furr. Survivors include one son, Darrell Furr and his wife Angie of Rockville; two daughters, Connie Sanders and her husband Bill of Kingman; Shelly Riggs and her husband Kenny of Rockville; two brothers, Ralph Furr of Loveland, CO, Daniel Leroy Furr of Montezuma; two sisters, Pat Vogus and Vera Nall both of Crawfordsville and his companion Colleen Furr of Rockville; fourteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother Arnold Ray Furr. He served in the Indiana National Guard. He was a collector of cars, trucks and tractors that he restored. Services will be 10:00 am Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 West Howard, Rockville with friend of Sid's Pastor Fred Becknell officiating. Burial will follow services in Beacon Hill Cemetery, south of Rockville. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 pm Friday, June 26 at Gooch Funeral Home. Memorial contributions, if friends so desire, may be made in his honor to Parke County Food Pantry, PO Box 222, Rockville, IN 47872.
