Death

Glenda Yokum, 87, of Buckhannon, W.Va., died Monday, February 24, 2020, at Serenity Care Home in Buckhannon. She was born April 17, 1932, in Barbour County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Clayton Marion and Rachel McCauley Furr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard R. “Dick” Yokum who died on November 18, 1999. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Belle Tenney and three brothers, Dayton, Clayton and Sonny Furr. She is survived by one daughter, Martha Edgell and husband Earl of Buckhannon; one sister, Sandra Miller and husband Joe of Philippi, W.Va.; three brothers, Darrel Furr and wife Pauline of Calif., Weegie Furr and wife Barbara and Donald Furr and wife Bobbie all of Ohio and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Yokum attended the Tennerton United Methodist Church. Friends will be received Thursday, February 27, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Holly J. Hoover officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.
