Death
Mrs. Elizabeth Smith Furr, 61, widow of D. Otto Furr, died yesterday in Winchester Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Mrs. Furr was a member of one of the oldest families in Middleburg and a lifelong resident of the town. She was the daughter of the late Daniel K. and Lucy Mason Adam Smith. Her husband was a Middleburg horsemen. For 20 years she was a correspondent for the Loudoun Times-Mirror in Leesburg. She was a member of the Middleburg Garden Club and Emmanuel Episcopal Church. Mrs. Furr is survived by adaughter. Miss Betty Furr; a son, D. Otto Furr. Jr., both of Middleburg; a sister, Mrs. David Maulsby of Baltimore, and a brother, Lloyd Smith of Petersburg. Va. Services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Emmanuel Church. Burial will be In Middleburg Memorial Cemetery.The Washington Post, Washington, DC, October 27, 1958
