Henry E. Furr, 23, son of William H. Furr, 2007 N, Stafford street, Arlington, Va. was killed in action in France, June 23, according to a War Department notice to his father. Pvt. Furr was a paratrooper. Born and reared in Arlington, he attended Washington and Lee High School and was later employed by Joe Guss & Sons in Washington before joining the Army in November, 1942. He was sent overseas in January of this year and was last heard from by his family May 26. He was awarded the Purple Heart. Besides his father he is survived by one brother, John Henry Furr of Arlington, and two sisters,” Mrs. Edith Gatten of Cherrydale, Va., and Mrs. Dorothy Cook of Springfield, Va.
