Death
Sally Carter Furr, 90, died Aug. 26, 2005, in Culpeper. She was born on Dec. 15, 1914, in Fauquier County, the daughter of Ashby Turner Carter and Sally Sisk. Mrs. Furr is survived by three daughters, Mary Furr Payne of Jeffersonton, Barbara Furr Waugerman of Fredericksburg, and Sally Furr Boydston of Woodbridge; seven grandchildren, C.J. Waugerman of Fredericksburg, Anne C. Payne of Warrenton, Mary Payne Griffin of Spotsylvania, Lisa Waugerman Taggs of Fredericksburg, Robert A. Waugerman of Fredericksburg, Martha L. Payne of Warrenton and Sally Boydston Ewing of Spotsylvania; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Clarence Furr, whom she married in 1932 at the Warren Green Hotel in Warrenton; two brothers and five sisters. A graveside service took place Aug. 29 at the Middleburg Baptist Church.Endnotes
