Death
Randolph H. “Randy” Furr, 68, of Bakerton, died Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at his residence. Born June 8, 1938, he was the son of the late Wilbur J. Furr and Mae L. Renner Furr. Mr. Furr was of the Methodist faith. He was a 1958 graduate of Charles Town High School. Mr. Furr retired in 1998 from Eastalco Aluminum Company, Buckeystown, Md. He was a member of Windy Knob Hunting Club and he served in the U.S. Army. He is survived by one daughter, Terri Furr Oliverio of Florida; one son, Randy Todd Furr and wife Karen Beth of Florida; one sister, Mary E. Chrisman of Leetown; one brother, Herbie C. Furr and wife Mary Frances of Charles Town; three grandchildren, Dylan Coffman, Brody Jamison Furr and Tierany Brooke; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Reva M. Jamison Furr, who died June 3, 1993; and one sister, Goldie M. Furr Dunn. Services will be held at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town on Saturday, April 14, 2007, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Lewis and Pastor Charles Henry officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m.Endnotes
