SUMMIT POINT, W.Va. - Goldie M. Furr Dunn, 73, of Summit Point, died Monday, Sept. 20, 2004, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va. Born Nov. 17, 1930, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Wilbur J. and Mae L. Renner Furr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph M. "Footney" Dunn, in 1998. She was a 1949 graduate of Charles Town (W.Va.) High School. She worked for the Summit Point Post Office for 25 years. She was a member of Summit Point United Methodist Church, was the worship leader, member of the choir, taught Sunday school and served on the board of trustees. She is survived by one sister, Mary E. Chrisman of Leetown, W.Va., and two brothers, Herbie C. Furr of Charles Town and Randolph H. Furr of Bakerton, W.Va. Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Summit Point United Methodist Church. The Rev. John Lewis will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg, W.Va. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town, and Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
