Death
IMA -- Danny Lee Furr, 73, passed away at 2:41 p.m. on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at Shawnee Manor. Danny was born on April 22, 1951, in Kenton, Ohio, to Raymond E. and Virginia (Plaugher) Furr. Danny graduated from Lima Senior High; he served in the U.S. Marines; and worked as a drywaller & finisher. He enjoyed art, fishing, sports, and was an avid OSU football and baseball fan. He loved playing video games and spending time with his family playing cards. He also enjoyed riding ATVs, which he would get in trouble for. Though he was ornery, Danny loved his church and reading his Bible. He was a loving and Godly man. He also loved his dog Maddie and his cat Ms. Kitty. He is survived by his daughters, Tasha McNeil of Aurora, CO, Melissa (Sunny) McNeil of Rawson, OH, and Brittany (J.B.) Brown of Lima, OH; son, Dustin Furr of Tennessee; 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Don (Sabrina) Furr of Cridersville, OH; sister, Kathy (Kevin) Pitts of Lima, OH; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Robert (Diana) Furr and Rick D. Furr. The family will receive friends from 12 – 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Rev. Joe Compton Jr. will officiate. Burial of ashes will be at a later date in Preston Cemetery, Alger, OH.
