Death
LIMA — Virginia Furr, 82, died at 8 a.m. Sept. 16, 2012, at her residence. She was born June 11, 1930, in Beaverdam to Everett and Dortha Cramer Plaugher, who preceded her in death. On Aug. 7, 1950, she married Raymond Eugene “Slick” Furr, who died Aug. 15, 2004. Mrs. Furr was a homemaker and greatly enjoyed and was very proud of everyone of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She loved her dog, Chip, and enjoyed playing bingo. She was a member of Union Chapel Missionary Church. She was very happy with her own salvation and always wanted that for all her loved ones. Survivors include four sons, Robert “Rob” (Diana) Furr, of Lima, Dan Furr, of Alger, Don (Sabrina) Furr, of Cridersville, and Rick Furr, of Alger; a daughter, Kathy (Kevin) Pitts, of Lima; two brothers, Dean (Freda) Plaugher and Richard (Betty) Plaugher, both of Lima; a sister, Sarah Smith, of Bellefontaine; and 20 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Plaugher; two sisters, Betty Lou Plaugher and Flodora Plaugher; and a great-grandson, Marcus Furr. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor Mark Bayliff will officiate. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.Endnotes
