Death

FAIRMONT — The Rev. Robert R. “Bob” Furr, 54, of Core, departed this earth to join his wife and the savior of his soul on Monday (July 4, 2011) at Allegheny General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born on Aug. 21, 1956 in Fairmont to the late Robert R. Furr Sr. and Lefa Foltz Furr. Bob, being licensed in the Church of God, was a devoted pastor and evangelized across the country, holding revivals whenever and wherever he could. Bob loved his family and being around people, but devoted his life to the Lord and bringing others to the saving power of God. Bob was a member of Mount Morris Gospel Tabernacle. Bob is survived by his son, Robert “Rob” J. Furr and his wife Kristi of New Stanton, Pa.; and his favorite canine companion, Sheba. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife, Cathy Lynn Forquer Furr, who passed away May 6, 2011. Family and friends may call at Mount Morris Gospel Tabernacle from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and from noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service Friday at Mount Morris Gospel Tabernacle with Pastors Milford Watters and Fred Tomlinson officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to McCulla Funeral Home at 770 Fairmont Road, Morgantown, WV 26501.
