Marriage

Miss Ruth Adella Sutherland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Sutherland, and Mr. Garnett Furr were married Saturday afternoon at 6 o'clock in Old Christ Church by the rector. Rev. William J. Morton, D. D. She walked to the altar with her brother, Mr. Clinton Sutherland. Her gown was of white crepe de chine, with which she wore a tulle veil fastened with a coronet of orange blossoms and valley lilies. She carried a shower of bride roses and lilies. Mrs. Margaret Harwood was matron of honor and wore a gown of flame-color georgette over satin and a black lace hat. She carried Ophelia roses. Mr. Robert Furr was best man for his brother. Immediately after the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, 825 Oronoco street. The couple was assisted in receiving by Mrs. Sutherland, mother of the bride, who wore a gown of gray crepe de chine with a gray hat and a corsage of pink roses, and Mrs. Furr, mother of the bride groom, who wore a gown of black crepe de chine with a black hat and a corsage bouquet of orchids and valley lilies. Mr. and Mrs. Furr left for a trip through the South, and after July 15 will be at home with Mrs. Furr's parents, on Oronoco street.
